I just adore these loafers. They’re super comfy. For me to say that — speaks volumes. I’m 50 years old and I’m on my feet all day at work. For me to find shoes that will get me through a 10-13 hour day without wanting to amputate my feet just to relieve the pain and pressure is pretty amazing. Here’s the super cool part — I absolutely love Dr. Martens, but at my age I feel a bit silly wearing a shoe that is obviously made for the younger generation. I was having a hard time coming to terms with that. Not that I NEED to be all age appropriate and stuff, but hey, people are mean and they judge. WELL...These loafers are like a mild version of the Dr. Martens and that makes me pretty darn happy and I still feel pretty darn hip. The Fitty Gritty: I’m wearing these with a not so thick cotton/wool pair of socks and the fit is perfect. However, come summertime I may get a bit concerned. I do feel that they will be a bit big without socks (which I wouldn’t do) or with a thin no-show nylon sock (the kind that are only long enough to cover the toes). I don’t think they’ll be big enough to justify going from an 8 to a 7 1/2 though. That’s the concerning part. I’m tempted to order a 7 1/2 to see how it goes. If I do I will return to give an update. I know how critical this is. I depend on reviews big time! I won’t leave ya hangin so stay tuned. Update: I did indeed order the size 7 1/2 and they are significantly smaller. Like painfully smaller. Sooo I just hope and pray that the 8’s don’t stretch out. I did wear the 8’s with the no-show nylon socks the other day and they are just as comfy as they are with my cotton/wool socks. WooHoo! Final conclusion on FIT: You guessed it, 5 bright and shiny stars! I can confidently recommend these shoes to my fellow Amazon shoppers. Enjoy!
