We had swarms and damage to baseboard on some outside walls. Installed these every 10 - 12 feet around the home. Planned on trenching in a diluted Fipronil concentrate. That was early February, 3 years ago. We saw two of these baits indicators pop up within a few days of placing them. Both in the areas where the baseboard was damaged. Replaced those baits and doubled up in those locations and also around the side of the home where we had some other baseboard damage (even though the indicator in the baits placed in that area didn't pop up) . One of the replaced baits indicators popped up again about 2 weeks later and the other a little while after that. A third popped up in a different area where there was no damage. All in all, we ended up ordering 3 boxes for initial placement and to replace eaten baits. We now replace these with new ones in February of every year. We monitor them when mowing the grass or doing yard work. We did not have a bait indicator pop up this past year. We never did do the trench treatment with Fipronil. I replaced the damaged baseboard and we have had no new damage. We haven't seen any swarms since installing these initially, 3 years ago. We live in a concrete home and, luckily the damage had not extended to interior walls or studs nor the attic trusses or T1-11 covering the gables. Only damage detected has been a few sections of the baseboard, as mentioned. These stakes are not supposed to be the single solution for killing termites that have already infiltrated but they have worked for us. We have 20 stakes planted around the perimeter of our home and replace them every year. Based on personal experience, I highly recommend these. I would not recommend relying on them as the only treatment for an infestation, no matter how small. Despite these Terminate stakes being the only thing that we used successfully to that end, they are not recommended for that. I can just say that these worked great for us. Highly recommended, at least as part of a prevention or treatment plan.
