Usually, I don’t rush to buy new kitchen toys because I don’t like to be disappointed. As a last resort, I always read the worst reviews in order to dissuade myself from shopping. And yes, I google product comparison reviews and price options before placing an order. I’ve been drinking Keurig single serve coffee for years at my work place. Although it is very reliable and affordable, the coffee it makes is taste like soup even from my favorite, freshly grinned beans. I’ve missed espresso for so long, so I was set to buy an affordable espresso maker. The Nespresso Essenza Mini perfectly meets all of my requirements. Buying this tiny-shiny espresso maker is worth every penny for someone who prefer espresso over dripping coffee. First, about the taste. This Nespresso machine makes a strong and flavorful Italian espresso that even smells heavenly. And yes, it comes with the signature cream on the top. Second: the quality of the machine. The body made from metal, the painting is smooth and shiny. Nice to touch it. Surprisingly, the plastic parts are very good quality too. Maybe I am lucky, but my machine does not leak at all. Third: easy to use Just follow the manual it is correct. Heating the water takes 25 seconds for a Lungo just as indicated in the manual. Actually, I think it is faster than Keurig. Placing the pod correctly requires some practice. I wish the manual would have a picture about it. (When the pod is in a good position, the pod tilts down a bit and not horizontal. It won’t fall down even though it seems. When you push the arm down gently, it will turn the pod in vertical position.) The pump makes some noise but it is acceptable and not loud as I read in some reviews. Bonus: The machine is surprisingly small therefore it was easy to fit into my busy countertop. Forth: price of a cup of espresso I drink Vergnano and a pod costs 35 cents All in all, I’m very satisfied this product. Did I mentione that it is red? =)
