Best Beauty Secret!
Since I was a child, I've always had fond memories of my mom smelling like roses after showering. It wasn't until I was older that I learned her beauty secret: rose water.
Rose water has been used for centuries in South Asian culture. I've purchased rose water in South Asian grocery stores to use for cooking purposes and have even made my own rose water by boiling down fresh rose petals. Rosewater has many benefits: smells great, refreshes dull skin, brings out a healthy glow, tones, hydrates and softens skin.
I decided to revisit the benefits of rose water after my face took a beating from the harsh, dry, NYC winter. I was intrigued when I saw that the Heritage Store had a rosewater with glycerin spray. Glycerin also has a myriad of benefits including moisturizing, healing, protecting, and smoothing.
I have been spraying Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin on my face almost daily for a few months now. In the wintertime, it adds an extra element of moisture which my skin desperately needs. In the summertime, it is an instant pick-me-up and refreshes tired, dull skin. It can be very soothing to any sunburnt areas of skin. I usually spray my face morning and night--in the morning as a setting spray for my makeup to give it a dewy, healthy glow; in the evening as aromatherapy to relax and calm my mind before bed. I sometimes also spray it in my hair to add moisture to dead ends and tame unwanted frizz.
Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin spray is one of my favorite beauty secrets that I have discovered and implemented from my mom. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an alternative to drying, alcohol laden toners and setting sprays. The benefits of incorporating both rosewater and glycerin into your beauty routine are too many to pass up!
