DO YOUR HOMEWORK, YES IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ORANGE!!
The negative reviews here are ridiculous, they are reviewing this oil without having done their homework. There are TWO kinds of Sea Buckthorn Oil; Berry and Seed. The Berry Oil, which this is, comes from an ORANGE berry and the oil is VERY red/orange. It is very good for your skin, but you need to dilute it into a carrier oil (such as coconut, jojoba, argan, etc.). The orange will disappear after the oil soaks into your skin, or you can simply wipe of the excess with a towel. I recommend using it at night when you're going to bed, sleep on a dark pillowcase, and in the morning you will have reaped the benefits of the oil and you wont be orange/yellow anymore because the oil will have soaked in. The berry oil is VERY good for your skin, and is supposed to be especially good for acne prone skin!
The smell is vaguely berry like, it does not smell ANYTHING like fish. For the person who claims it smells like fish I think you need to do your research because Sea Buckthorn is a TREE that lives on LAND, not some kind of mysterious sea dwelling plant.
Sea Buckthorn SEED Oil, which this is NOT, is a typical golden oil color (like argan oil or similar), and smells nutty. It does not have the same benefits as the berry oil for topical use, but it is still good for some skin related things like wrinkles.
So DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Yes, this is supposed to be orange! Stop giving it negative reviews because you didn't do your homework.
