I love this thing. I swear it's the best cat scratch "post" I've ever found. NO LIE, I LOVE THIS THING, I WANT ONE IN EVERY ROOM! Sorry this is long, but do yourself...and your cats...a favor AND DO NOT LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING. Since there's no way to secure it, it WILL FALL DOWN and scare your feline, and chances are, they won't touch it after it "tried to kill them" (come on, we all know how melodramatic cats are). Having read too many comments stating this leaning scratcher falls over etc etc, basic common sense takes one look at this gem and DOESN'T try to lean it up. That said, the photos I've attached: The post with the giant hole in it is from my large cat...this is what he does to every scratch thing I buy him, and at great expense. This bald one was covered in sisal rope, which lasted only a few days. I had put these against the arms of my new sofa, for obvious reasons. Thank GOD he only scratches this and NOT my bed, rugs or furniture! 2nd pic is this "Lean-It" scratching post...laid down on the floor of my bedroom because my small cat is in love with the brand new Berber carpet in my brand new apartment, and also the base of my brand new and very expensive mattress set. You can see that they have barely even pulled any threads. And since I laid this down, there has not been ANY poking or scratching on carpets, furniture or my bed. I LOVE THIS THING. THIS THING ROCKS. PERIOD. Laid down flat, they lay on it, sit on it, sleep on it, scratch it, dig at it, roll around with it, scoot it across the floor, wrestle, hug, bite and drag it... and have not yet caused it any harm. I want one for every room in my house. If the manufacturers would make a version that CAN BE attached to the wall somehow, or on some sort of "L-shaped" sturdy base (so it stands on its own) I'd buy those too. I recommend this with enthusiasm. I didn't even need to spritz or sprinkle cat nip on it, I laid it down, they had a little tussle over who would get it first, and they both use it all day (and sometimes night LOL). Love this thing. KUDOS to the designer!!
