This is my second KitchenAid dish rack. Actually a great design. Hold dishes well. Looks nice on the counter. The old version rusted badly. Used a grey Plastic Dip coating to make it look good and to extend it's use. The newer version has lighter grey accents and catch tray. The wire racks themselves are lightly coated with a silver material. If it is a powder coat type finish, it is thin. After a couple weeks, I have already noticed rust forming. Sadly, not surprised. It should hold up better but certainly a negative given the price. I paid around 80 dollars for mine. Have seen it on Amazon for less. We actually have a KitchenAid oven, microwave and refrigerator. Not really happy with any of them in regard to how they are standing the test of time. Work fine. It's the little things like seals, etc. that fail early. Microwave has made various noises for awhile now on and off. Would not buy again. Strayed a little but in closing, this is a nice dishrack. The shape and size works great for our family. Just a shame it will not look good for a long time. Hope this is of some help to others. Not to sway you away from the product but rust issue still exists on the newer version and needs to be noted.
