I needed a bag that could handle two laptops, two iPads and other work related materials. I could see using this as an overnight bag but not why I got it. I've used it for 3 cross country trips and been happy so far. You definitely need to be in the middle or window seat for this bag to fit underneath the seat in front of you. It's also a little tight to get the bag under the seat in front of you when you're sitting in the super cramped economy section I usually fly economy plus on United and therefore have extra legroom. I love the water bottle holder on the side and the spare bag that came with it. I did get an upgrade to first-class and found that it did not fit directly under the seat in front of me, however that was due to the odd configuration of the seats. I also had an odd seat on a United flight, and no bag fit in the seat in front of me. Thankfully this was easy to fit in the overhead bin.
