While we do love peppermint, we were using it this time to eradicate attic squirrels. We have been plagued by squirrels in our attic for a couple of years, and I came across a suggestion to use peppermint oil soaked cotton balls to keep them away, because apparently they don't like the smell like we do. We made the peppermint cotton balls and threw them up in the attic and sprayed it into the attic as well. One week later we have not heard them back yet...
