If the scale went to 10, I would give it a 9. I've had this for less than a week and had used it 3 or 4 times on my large dogs. I love this trimmer. Finally found a trimmer with enough power for large dog claws BUT, it is so powerful that you shouldn't use it on any higher setting than number 1 or 2 and for les that 1 second per nail. Any higher than that you will burn the dogs claw. I started my dogs on number 1 setting to get them used to the low whine tone it makes. One the third time I used it, I moved up to number 2 setting and that is fast enough.
