After using my father’s older Bissell ProHeat to remove some blue ink stains from our white living room carpet, I knew I needed one of these in my life. This model does a fantastic job of pulling nasty stuff out of carpet and upholstery despite not having a built-in water heater. I mainly use it to clean pet urine, but I’ve also used it to remove red juice from our white rug with great success. The only complaint I have is that the solution Bissell sells for this thing is way too expensive. Thankfully, you don’t have to use it! I recommend buying a gallon of OdoBan disinfectant concentrate from your local hardware store for about $10. Fill the clean tank to the water line, then add OdoBan up to the “disinfectant” line. Swish it around a bit to mix and you’ll be set. The gallon of OdoBan will give you twice the solution for less than half the price of the Bissell stuff and it works just as well. Enjoy!
