I would recommend them to anyone needing a cheap pair of snowshoes ...
I purchased these snowshoes for a 200+ mile segment of the Continental Divide Trail in the San Juan Mountains. As a thru hiker I used these to their limit and was surprised how well the held up. I would recommend them to anyone needing a cheap pair of snowshoes for a short trip. I used tennis shoes and waterproof socks.
Pros
- quick release straps make it easy to clip in.
- somewhat light for those times you have to carry on your backpack
- plastic held up well for duration of trip
Cons
- aluminum teeth on bottom bend if you walk on rocks
- only have 2 straps on top, need a third for better circulation in foot
- no traction when side stepping across a slope, no sided to side, great on up and downs.
