I love the bulb... it is the easiest way to add the "dusk to dawn" feature to an existing light fixture. I tried to use the "add on" dusk to dawn socket to the fixture... but that made the bulb too long and it did not look right or function well. I used these lights in two areas... one works well, the other does not. On the front of our home we have two wall mounted fixtures with clear glass. No problems! These bulbs work like a champ! Under the car port I have two ceiling fixtures with frosted glass.... these do not work very well and the lights end up staying on all day. So be aware that the type of fixture does matter. If your fixture is in an exposed area with clear glass then you will love these... if you have a fixture that is not in direct sunlight and/or has frosted/tinted/colored glass then these may not work well... or at all.
