This is exactly what I was hoping it would be! I bought it for my boyfriend as a birthday gift because he loves the ocean and I know he is absolutely going to love this. It is very bright and covers the entire ceiling in my bedroom. The motor makes a very small amount of noise but it's almost soothing as it is not rickety sounding. The speaker also has a very smooth, clear sound; it doesn't crackle at all. The speaker does not get very loud so don't expect it to be good for a party or anything, but it's really nice for just lying down and having something playing while you watch the waves. I always love it when people add pictures to their reviews so I hope you find mine helpful! I would encourage anyone looking for a nice light show to purchase this item.
