I bought this as a daily deal at around $10 as a "proof of concept" for the missus. She was VERY against a hanging paper towel holder in our kitchen for all the reasons. She was concerned about drilling holes, counter space interference, the kids messing with it, the paper towels touching things on the counter, that it was my idea...like I said, ALL the reasons. I told her I bought it "for the garage" but if she wanted to try it in the kitchen first, I'd be OK with that. Well, after the literal seconds it took to stick this under a cupboard and inspecting how robust but easy-to-use everything was, it was determined I was NOT getting a paper towel holder for my garage. So far the adhesive and construction has held up to a five-year-old, four-year-old, and a two-year-old that all think getting a paper towel is try-out for the circus. Our youngest was even caught hanging on it, the bar, plastic bar ends, frame, and adhesive all held without any issue. Now, I wouldn't suggest hanging nearly 40lbs of squirming toddler-terrorist on YOUR paper towel rack (only hed up with the adhesive mind you), but MINE survived without any noticeable ill-effects or lasting damage. I am a machinist by trade and unless someone tries to break this thing, I think it will be in the kitchen as long as the kitchen is still there. I want to admit that I wrote this review because I got a very polite e-mail asking me to. I was not offered anything in return for my review. I wanted to leave some words concerning this product because it really was an excellent purchase that I realized was so mundane (who give a second thought to the paper towel holder in the kitchen unless you're actively using it?) I didn't realize how pleased I was with it. So, buy with confidence, this isn't a cheap piece of junk.
