Well, my alarm system lit up like a Christmas tree. Wouldn't work any longer. Went online and found a manual that went with my 16 year old alarm system. Possible issue was a dead battery, along with 10 others things that might cause it to light up. A dead battery was the easiest resolution for me to try before the advanced what the heck are you talking about instructions about other potential issues. So, purchased this item. You really have to be careful when purchasing batteries online as you never know whether you are going to get the real deal. Is it a knockoff? Is it going to last more than a month? If it going to catch fire? The last time I purchased one for my alarm system was at Radio Shack probably 7-8 years ago. After researching this and a number of other batteries for my alarm, decided on this unit. The specs were nearly identical with the specs of the battery it was replacing. Hooked it up. Through trial and error was able to reset my alarm system. Bingo. The battery ultimately proved to be the issue and this battery worked like a charm in resolving.
