An Honest Review
When I first received the controller, I was blown away by all the customization options you had right out of the box. The 3 sets of weights you can add to the controller make a world of difference ( I liked using the 10kg ), along with the domed thumbsticks and variable shaft sizes so decrease your turn radius. The controller, of course, is laid out like a traditional Xbox controller and with it comes a strong, ergonomic grip that beats the DS4. The buttons on the back, though slightly more flush than I would like, were easy enough to reach and could quickly be assigned to almost any button on the controller without the need for extra software. The battery life meets my expectations and matches the DS4, lasting around 8 hours. I was also using different lighting features so had I kept it default it may have lasted longer. The customization features you get when you link it with the Nacon software is amazing. It allows you to change your light settings, change the sensitivity on your triggers and thumbsticks, change the button assignments for every button not just the rear buttons, and to top it all off you can upload 4 separate profiles each with its own custom settings.
Now for the reason I returned my controller.
I enjoy using my headset whether it's connected with a receiver or plugged into a controller. However, this controller compresses the microphone on all headsets to the point that you cannot be heard by anyone you're talking to. I have tried multiple headsets and even connected the controller to my PC to see if by sheer chance it was my PS4. Even after exchanging a previously bought controller for another, the issue still persisted. If any of you are reading this and plan on using a wired headset, do not buy this controller. It is an issue with the software built into the controller, and it's even worse when you try to use the controller wirelessly.
If you want a controller built for competition and also under $200, this controller is great; but if you're going to use a wired headset I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
