So far I love it!
I just got it today. I have had a chance to test it out on both 110V and 12V and both work fine. This fridge will live in my VW Westfalia Syncro camper van. I set the freezer side to 0F and the fridge side to 34F and it only took about 15-20 minutes to reach the set temps, although not a hot day in Colorado. This fridge has great features at a very reasonable price, especially when compared to the ARB, Dometic, etc. high end fridges. If it lasts, I will be a very happy camper! Once I've had it a while, I'll do a video review and update this review with more thoughts. UPDATE: 12/27/19 I let the fridge run for about 35 days straight in my van to make sure it was working fine before the 30 day "no reason" return window closed. I had the fridge side set to around 38F and the freezer side set to around 10F. Although not a brutal test since it's winter in Colorado and temps are already low, the fridge did work perfectly the entire time. I'm still very happy with the purchase! UPDATE: 09/27/2020 I am happy to report that this unit is still working great. I used it all summer in hot conditions inside my van while doing work in remote locations. I used it dual mode and it was able to keep up even in my van sitting in the sun with the windows rolled up for security and the temps got unreasonably hot. I've been using a couple of fleece blankets folded up on top of the fridge to add some insulation, as I've noticed the lid can feel pretty cool to the touch. I wish they would come out with a fitted insulation cover like some of the other units. UPDATE: 02/15/2021 My first problem with this unit! The other day, the temperature readout for the fridge side quit working. The fridge is still functioning properly other than the temp readout. When using it as both sides fridge or freezer, the single readout works fine, but in dual mode, the top temperature indicator no longer works. It's not a big deal since I have added thermometers inside that hang on the baskets and are quite accurate (See added image). These work well with the baskets as you can hang them at the top, bottom or in the middle. It's actually surprising how much the temp varies from top to bottom, as I guess would be expected. Here's a link to those thermometers if anyone is interested: https://amzn.to/2NyFN6I UPDATE 07/10/2021 - Well, the fridge died! I suspect the compressor failed. With a one year warranty, I was in need of a new fridge. I ended up going with the best this time, and got the ARB Zero 73 quart dual zone, https://amzn.to/3xFmo6v. This one should last the rest of my life... I'm old so if I can get 10 years out of it, I'm set. I really thought the Alpicool was a great buy, but if they only last less than two years, how good of a value are they? Perhaps the newer version with the LG brand compressors are more reliable, but I wasn't going to chance it.
