Read this before you get too far into the series:I'm an avid reader of fiction. I'm not too picky about the stories I follow, as long as they entertain me. So I started reading the "Girl in the Box" series (10 books), and enjoyed them. I decided to keep following the adventures of Sienna in the "Out of the Box" series. I'm afraid Mr. Crane has fallen into the trap that Robert Jordan did with his "Wheel of Time" series. What a great series that was at the start! But the writer became a victim of his success, introduced new characters, and extended the series far beyond his original announcements. In fact, he died with the series still being written, and who knows if the final outcome of beloved characters his heirs attempted is even close to what was originally intended? Sienna may be your bread and butter, Robert, but you're now publishing rambling, vague, angst-filled stories. She deserves SO much better. YOU could have done so much better. If you come up with a new story premise in the future, block out the story, start-to-finish, and stick to it. Don't be cajoled into doing more. Don't be Robert Jordan, be J.K. Rowlings. Despite the immense success of her Harry Potter series, she announced from volume one that there would be 7 books in the series. And there were. Truly, a miracle, and one you are capable of, too. If anyone is still reading this review, here is what I told my daughter, when she started reading the original "Girl in the Box" series: Read all 10 of those books, and the first six of the "Out of the Box" series, and then wish Sienna well. Maybe, Mr. Crane, if you ever come up with a kick-ass series finale, I'll join you for it. But please stop taking poor Sienna from one rambling, torturous plot-thin adventure to another. Just stop.
