I am disappointed. After reading all the stellar reviews here I feel like my expectations were far over hyped. For starters: - It is NOT powerful. Output at anything less than max is laughable. I have a $30 tower fan that's 10 years old that moves more air on its lowest setting. After having owned a couple dyson vacuums and being thoroughly impressed with the air blades I come across in public restrooms, I guess I just expected something better than a small child fanning me from across the room with a broken paper fan. - It is NOT quiet. It most certainly can be, when it's off, or on its lowest settings (1 through 2), but anything higher will require you to don ear plugs if you want to get any sleep. I bought this fan because it was advertised as quiet and powerful, primarily for use while I sleep. It is neither. Solid two stars STRICTLY for the industrial design. UPDATE: Dyson customer support is top notch. They got in contact with me shortly after this review, and immediately sent me a replacement fan to ensure there were no problems with the original one. The new fan is better - still not as quiet as I would like but much better than the original. I am very impressed with their customer care.
