I didn't really need this, I just bought it because it's in the background of every AvE video so I thought it must be a skookum choocher. The build quality is excellent and this is a major improvement over my last soldering iron. The tip heats up instantly and the grip doesn't get hot. Heating time is under 30 seconds to 750 degrees. The holder for the iron is all metal so you don't have to worry about burning anything, and it comes with a durable sponge that wipes all the old solder and schmoo right off. My only complaint is that the user interface is only 2 buttons, making it very hard to access all the functions. I had to watch youtube videos to figure out how to do some basic things that the manual didn't cover. Would it have killed them to add one more button?
