So, these DO work as advertised but they are prone to failure as seen in other reviews. The plastic is fairly poor when it comes to load distribution so with a few minor mods, problem solved. First, I filled mine with expanding foam that is firm when cured and helps distribute the compression loading and doesn't rely on the plastic structure to do all the heavy lifting. Once that's done, I fitted vinyl blocks (wood works fine as well) in the top pockets to again prevent any stress risers and point loading of the top face that has caused so many to crack. It distributes the load around the entire perimeter of the pocket. These now sit under a steel platform bead that when loaded with two adults, probably exceeds 600lbs. They are rock solid after my improvements. I would not trust them as they come from the factory as they are essentially fairly flimsy empty plastic molds.
