First let me start by saying that I was hesitant to purchase this item because of these bad reviews about missing components and all that, so I decided to do a comprehensive review addressing all the topics that had me thinking twice about doing it. 1) missing parts: everything is in the lower compartments, just undo the Velcro and you’ll find everything, it is clearly labeled. 2) no instructions: the instruction booklet is included but you don’t even need it because this is pretty self explanatory. 3) gaps between components after assembly: as you should do with all construction, don’t tighten anything all the way until all the corners are approximated. If you do, it will be lopsided. Same as changing a tire. 4) couch is hard: I admit it is not the softest couch I’ve sat on, but I assembled it 30 seconds ago so I imagine it will get softer as I break it in 5) poor construction: the couch is sturdy, every assembly point is firmly mounted and the couch does not wobble at all, it is solid after assembly 6) Velcro doesn’t match cushions: my Velcro matched perfectly I would not only recommend this purchase, but buy it again. The brown leather looks very elegant and is not cheap looking. For $500, you can’t beat it
