Tips for use
Ok, so it holds a lot of water. Here is my experience and tips for those of you thinking of buying this thing. I've had pets forever and have used these types of water dispensers for as long as I can remember. So I know how they work. First Day I got this things, took it out of the box, removed the lid, unscrewed the cap, rinsed out the little charcoal packet that is the "Advanced Filtration System" then put it back in the lid and put the little plastic clip back in the lid that holds the packet in. I then put the base down on the floor where the water bowl goes and went and filled the 4 gallon jug in the bathtub. REMEMBER- 1 Gallon of water weighs about 8.3lbs, so 4 gallons of water is about 33 pounds. So after I filled this thing up I put the lid back on it. The plastic clip promptly fell to the bottom of the 4 gallons of water, so I needed to stick my arm down into the jug to get it. No Biggie, I'm clean and they are Dogs, they drink out of the toilet anyway. So I get the lid back on then attempt to lift this GIANT wet smooth plastic ball out of the bathtub, I end up having to hug this thing because it is so slippery and heavy. Think of a greased watermelon(I'm 5'11" and 250lbs) so I'm not exactly frail. I take the jug of water and go to quickly turn it over onto the base. BAD IDEA!!! Water comes out of the holes around the lid at about 1Gal/Second, with enough force to spray across the room soaking my pants from the knee down and managing to spray some drawers that were nearby. I got the jug into the base, then you have to turn it slightly to lock it in place. The Animals use it. I asked them if they loved it but they were like "It's a freakin water bowl!" I really do like this thing cause it holds a bunch of water and I don't need to refill it constantly. Tips for use. 1. Take off all your clothes.(try to make your refill times around bath time) 2. Once it is full, Lift with your knees, not your back. 3. After you have the lid on, put the base on it, upside down(Make sure the base is empty first) 4. Transport the whole thing to the watering location and flip the whole thing over at one time, if the base is on it, it will catch the water that sprays out and it will just go into the bowl. Good Luck
