A Lot of Bang for Your Buck!
UPDATE!
TracFone has released a 4G version. It is called the LG Sunset. The phone is currently only available through HSN at this time. The product ranges from $130 to $150.
UPDATE!
I'll be comparing some of the features in this phone to the LG Ultimate 2.
The LG Power, in my opinion, is better than the LG Ultimate 2. I own both phones. The difference between the two phones are fairly slight, but they are noticeable.
Aesthetics:
The LG Power is a beautiful phone. The LG Ultimate 2 is also a beautiful phone, but I prefer the LG Power. The LG Power has all its navigation on the screen. The LG Ultimate 2, however, have buttons under the screen. The layout may feel different for some people, but it's not hard getting used to. The LG Power is like a mini LG G4 or mini LG G3 in my opinion.
Reception:
The call quality is great for both phones. You will be using Verizon's service towers. 3G speeds on the LG Power and LG Ultimate 2 are great. It's not 4G LTE, but it does its job very well.
Performance:
Both phones have the same clock speed processor of 1.2 GHz. They also have 1GB of RAM. The LG Power, however, runs on a quad-core processor instead of a dual-core processor that the LG Ultimate 2 runs. The difference is pretty noticeable. The LG Power loads almost every app I've used faster than the LG Ultimate 2. On YouTube, videos load much quicker on the LG Power. I use the Google Now launcher for both phones. The LG Power runs much smoother in my opinion. Also, games like Subway Surfers, Angry Birds, Temple Run, and Fruit Ninja run smoothly on the LG Power.
Display:
The LG Power and the LG Ultimate 2 both rock a 4.5" display. However, the width of the LG Power is slightly smaller than that of the LG Ultimate 2. The LG Power's screen resolution is 854x480 and the LG Ultimate 2 is 840x480. In my opinion, the LG Power has the better display between the two phones. Background wallpapers look much smoother. However, the contrast and colors on the LG Ultimate 2 look so much better. The colors and contrast look way more natural than that of the LG Power. Both screens are fairly hard to see in the sunlight even at 100% brightness. The LG Power, in my opinion, has the better clarity between the two phones. Also, the fingerprints can be wiped away very easily on the LG Power. You can keep it sleek and clean whenever you want to. On the other hand, the LG Ultimate 2 is a fingerprint magnet. Every time you try to clean the screen, there will be smudges.
Battery:
Battery life is great for both phones. I'm a moderate user and I can easily get two days of screen on time from both phones without a charge. Heavy users will get up to 3-5 hours of screen on time depending on what they do. Stand by time is great on both phones. You can get up to 8 days on the LG Power and 10 days on the LG Ultimate 2. The LG Ultimate has a 2000 mAh battery while the LG Power has a 1900 mAh battery. Again, the battery life is great on both phones. Unfortunately, they both do not have quick charging, but they have a replaceable battery.
Storage:
The internal memory in the LG Power is 8GB. However, you only get about 3.5GB to 5GB of free space due to the bloatware. The LG Ultimate has an internal memory of 5GB. You get, roughly, over for 4GB of free space. You can put a micro SD storage card of up to, at least, 32GB for both phones. The memory wasn't a problem for me. I don't have a lot of apps or music. On the other hand, for those who have or want a lot of apps and music, I recommend you buy a micro SD storage card.
Camera:
The camera for both phones are OK for a low-end to mid-range phone. The LG Power and the LG Ultimate 2 have a 5MP camera. When I was comparing each camera side by side without taking a picture, the LG Ultimate 2 camera resolution looked so much better than the LG Power. I was a little disappointed. However, when you take a picture with the LG Power, it looks just as good as the LG Ultimate 2. Video recording is great on the LG Power. That's not the case for the LG Ultimate 2. The LG Power can record as high as 1080p, while the LG Ultimate 2 can only record to a mere 480p. Both phones, also, are known to have autofocus and LG's optical image stabilizer (OIS). They are not great, but they will capture your moments with loved ones and friends. (I have added a non-edited and edited picture of a flower in my front yard. By the way, I only used the regular gallery editor to beautify my edited image.)
Other:
The LG Power runs Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and the LG Ultimate 2 runs Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Android 5.0.1 is known for its lag, but on the LG Power, it is very smooth. If you're upgrading from an LG Ultimate 2, you don't have to learn much to get used to it. Both phones also have the knock-knock feature. You double tap the screen to either turn on or off the screen. It's a great feature. Both phones also have a rear speaker. The LG Power's rear speaker, in my opinion, is much louder and clearer than the LG Ultimate 2's. A little over half of the max volume on the LG Power is just as loud as the LG Ultimate 2 on max volume. The LG Power also has a keyboard adjustment feature. If your hands are big, you can adjust the height to your preference and text much easier.
Overall, the LG Power is a great phone. Is it worth the $100? I think it is. It's not a perfect phone. It has its flaws, but its positives outweigh the negatives by a large margin. Is it worth upgrading from an LG Ultimate 2 or an Alcatel OneTouch Icon Pop? In my opinion, yes. If you're looking for something high-end, this phone is not for you. This phone is for people who want to have the luxury of a smartphone, but without the expensive price tag. It can do almost everything that a high-end smartphone can do. You get so much for your buck. I, personally, don't really care for the specifications on a phone. The accessibility is all that matters to me. Being able to play games, surf the Web, Skype, and call and text on a $100 smartphone is absolutely incredible. Again, this is a great phone. Buy it with low expectations and you will be blown away.
