Very cool...cold...to the touch. It will warm up some, but I just flip it over and it's cols again. Firm pillow for sure, but it's memory foam so it's not like a rock. I have nerve damage in my neck and shoulders, and this is the perfect size and perfect support to help ease the pain. This pillow was so great, I bought a queen mattress as well, and it is perfect too. The coolness and comfort are the best I have ever found.
