This is a great floaty but has the issue of the lack of a crotch strap. I've tried several options and here is the best thing I've come up with. Remove the shoulder straps completely through the two holes at the front of the float; they don't do anything or add to the safety. You will need to remove the plastic clasps to do this. Make the strap into a crotch strap: Look at the two parts of the clasp. One part has a single opening and the other part has two openings. Thread the strap back through the part of the clip that has a single slot. Pull the ends of the strap so they' re of equal length. Attach the other part of the clasp to the free ends of the doubled strap. Put the strap through the baby's crotch and thread one part of the clasp behind the clip that holds the wings together; put the other part of the clasp in front of the clip. Connect the two parts of the clasp together and tighten the strap.
