Plants love these! (Updated again 2021)
2021 update: They got left out all winter again but they are still holding up well. I used them without a problem all through the summer of 2020. I bought more last year and now have over 100 of them in various sizes, 3 gallon up to the 20 gallon. A few big ones have ripped again due to me trying to move them full of dirt while they were still frozen to the ground. Don't do that lol! I will be using them all again this year. 2020 Update: I left these out all winter full of dirt due to unforeseen circumstances last year, and I am now using them again this year and they are still in great shape! I did have one handle rip because I was trying to move it with to much dirt in it, but that was probably my fault. Still going! Update: I am re-using the same ones for my second year and they are holding up great! I have 30 pots being re-used and not one of them has ripped or had any problems at all! They are all still in perfect condition. So this is my first year using these cloth bags. I've always used hard pots for my container gardening for my tomato plants and everything else. The key is to make sure you get a nice big pot so that you give your tomato plants lots of room to grow. I bought the 10 and 20 gallon ones for my tomato plants that said they would grow to be 6 ft tall. Well now they are over 6 feet tall and I have never had so many tomatoes on my plants and I've never had them grow so tall before! In the hard pots they would always get rootbound but in these they do something called air pruning which I was skeptical of but when I had to transplant one of them there were no roots wrapping all the way around the outside they looked great. These are the best tomato plants I've ever grown and I will never go back to hard pots again! And yes these are the same tomato plants I try to grow every year. At the end of the season they can be washed out with soap and water and the hose and used over and over again. If you're doing outside container gardening I would definitely suggest at least starting with the 10 gallon pots for plants that will grow tall. For my green beans and cucumbers we bought 20 gallon pots and planted three plants in each one of them along a trellis and they're coming up beautifully. And it's true you can never over water them. we water them everyday and any excess water runs out and the dirt keeps in just enough for the plants to be happy!
