I read all of the reviews on this pit before buying, some great, some horrifying! I decided to move forward with this pit because it is truly a great deal. Amazon provided free shipping and it arrived in under a week. As others described, the box was a bit beat up. The Box is 70 pounds, and I got to watch my UPS guy wrestle this off the truck. I can safely say the box probably did not leave the Amazon warehouse this way, it was beat up and dented by the carriers trying to move this thing. My wife and I put it together in about 30 minutes. The company provides a little wrench and screw driver, but do yourself a favor and use your own 10mm (metric) socket and wrench. It really speeds up the process for installing the 40+ nuts and bolts in this thing. As others have said, you need about 10 more pounds of glass but there is plenty to chose from on this site and others. We lit it off first time and the kids love it. It provides plenty of heat and looks great on our custom built deck. We toasted marshmallows and made smores for an hour before retiring inside. No problems here with the finish and it has already snowed on this thing without a cover. Someone in one of these reviews recommended an air conditioning cover (Classic Accessories Veranda Air Conditioner Cover, Square) but don't get it, it does not fit. Make sure you get a cover that fits a true 42 x 42 square. All in all I recommend this fire pit! The flames are huge and wonderful and the table is very sturdy!
