New buyer's guide, here's what I learned...
[grey, adult size, long]
hood opening = 14"
mid section = 30" across (60" around)
lower section = 35" across (70" around)
pockets begin 11" down from the neck seam
shoulder to end of garment = 52"
neck to end of garment = 47"
neck center to end of arm = 37" (74" total wing-span)
wrist cuff = 4" across unstretched
pocket height = 12"
pocket width = @ 10- 17"
pocket opening = 6.5"
robe tie = 80x 1.75"
hem seam side split with 3 snaps = 18"
manufacturer/seller described weight = 4 lbs
STRENGTHS COMPARED TO OTHERS:
_high-quality stitching
_seam covered inside of hood
_thicker sherpa lining
_side split
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
_total weight of garment (3-5 lbs offers medium-to-heavy duty warmth whereas 1-2ish lbs offers lighter warmth)
_pockets = pass-through or stand alone, sherpa-lined, placement (on oversized garments, you don't wanna have to keep searching for pocket openings)
_hood opening = sherpa-touching face or not (picks up makeup, oils, dirt)
_overall length = above knees (easier on/off, easier bathroom visits), below knees (more coverage)
_wrist cuff = snug is better (extra long sleeves need an adequate stop)
_stitching, alignment of seams/material
_sherpa density = how well does the lining in the garment compare to standard sherpa blankets
_some rich, intense colors (like red) can bleed over onto white sherpa
SIDE NOTE: I didn't intend to write a review for this product but after purchasing 4 different brands and styles of wearable blanket hoodies, I realized there are distinct differences worth sharing with folks. I'm giving this garment a 5 star rating. It is by far the better quality, even though there's nothing hugely wrong with the others I tried. This wearable blanket was the only one that sewed a soft covering along the seams inside the hoodie section. Also, it appears to be the only one with a 3-snap slit along the lower right side. Lastly, the sherpa lining was the thickest of all the ones I bought, closely resembled my sherpa blanket throw.
