Vacuums come to my home to die. Seriously; we have to buy a new one every year! Typically within the first 3 few months, they start breaking down. I've had mine for a few months now and I am happy to report that this vacuum is the very first of MANY vacuums to last this long in my large home. We are a family of 7; along with 2 dogs and 2 cats. 11 rooms in my home with either rugs or carpet and half are hardwood floors; I can use this vacuum on both surfaces. We live in the country with lots of dirt and dust....this vacuum hasn't lost its suction yet and works just as well as it did the first time I used it. I vacuum 1-2 times a week! I clean it out after every 3-4 rooms (typically twice overall each time I use it.) I will note the only "problem" that I have had is that about a week ago (after 25 plus uses), I had to cut hair off of the roller as it was getting caught and wrapping around the roller; after that, I decided to clean the filter, and clean out the hoses really well; and I have used it 4 times since then and have had no other issues.
