I've been looking at the mixed reviews on Amazon. Candidly, I found this to work perfect for my needs. My lawn was mostly dead and any attempts to water would only sprout weeds. I started by clearing the weeds and scarring the soil using Sun Joe AJ801E 12 Amp 13" Electric Scarifier Plus Lawn Dethatcher with Collection Bag. I seeded in fall, when day and night temperatures were within the recommended range. After applying the seeds, I covered them with light coat of top soil. Kept the area moist with light watering (twice daily). Since the seeds are germinating, the point was to keep them most, not soak the ground. After 10 days, the first signs of grass started to appear. A month later, the grass was starting to thicken up and fill in the bare spot in my lawn. I didn't mow it until 40 days and it is doing just fine now. Interestingly, I find that this grass mixture grows at a faster rate then the rest of my lawn. By the time mowing day comes along, the new patch is easily 25% taller than the rest of my lawn.
