Trying to keep a Dachshund from jumping is like trying to tell a bird not to fly
My 12 y.o. Dachshund LOVES this ramp! So does my 8 y.o. Rat terrier. Neither have arthritis but my Dachshund had pinched a nerve in his back and narrowly escaped IVDD. But, since my pillow top queen bed is off it's frame and STILL sits really high, I needed this ramp because out of all the other ramps i saw, this one has the lowest incline up to high surfaces. Meaning, the other ramps went nearly straight up (if you needed to set the ramp for a high bed or whatever). And you know, I don't have a Camel, i have a short n long weenie dog, so that crazy incline isn't going to work for us. Yes, that does mean this particular ramp is long, thus taking up more space in my bedroom, but whatever works! Trying to keep a Dachshund from jumping is like trying to tell a bird not to fly...so,at the great price for this sturdy, well built ramp, well worth it! The carpet has been modified, as I've read, but my pup can still run up/down ramp w/o slipping, even though the carpet is still a lil slicker than say, a shag carpet. But no worries, just get that foamy, squishy type cheap shelf liner at Walmart and staple some to the portion of the ramp that your pup might find a lil too smooth.
