As you can see in the photos I purchased four different cissus products off of amazon. I also extensively researched cissus. The root, stem, and leaves of the plant are all used medicinally. It is the stem that has the most bioactive compounds in it. Some companies will remove all of the outer bark of the stem and some companies will use all or part of the bark. The outer bark has less bioactive compounds than the inner stem. This product is using only the inner stem according to the manufacturer. You can tell by the color of the powder that they are not using the bark. Of all four different cissus products this product had the best and most potent taste. They guarantee this product as containing at least 2.5% phytosterols. They don’t test for ketosterones percentages like some other manufacturers do. They said they might do that in the future and that would be the only thing I can think of that might improve the product. However it is not yet clear from research if it even is the ketosterones that are responsible for the medicinal properties. I really like that this company posts examples of their Certificates of authenticity and their lab results right on their website and will email you the most current ones upon requests. The Bulk Supplements powder had a strong cissus taste but the powder also had a burnt taste indicating that the heat may have been very high at some point during the manufacturing process. As you can see from the pic the powder is also very dark indicating that they used all of the plants bark in their mix. Their product is stanatdized to include at least 3.5% ketosterones. The Vitamonk product has a very strong cissus taste that is somewhat similar to this product. In some ways it tastes stronger and in some ways weaker. It has a different flavor profile than this product. It is standardized to include at least 5% ketosterones. The powder is much darker than this product’s powder but not as dark as the Bulk Supplement powder which could mean that they used some but not all of the outer bark in their mix. Or maybe they do use all of the bark and the B.S. powder is only that dark because they burnt it. The Naturebell product is the WORST. It taste like sawdust. I would suggest not buying anything from this entirely Chinese owned compnay that has a very poor reputation in the industry.
