Received today
My main draw to this bag was the pockets. I was looking to abandon the diaper bag and move everything into my purse, but my old purse was just lacking any kind of built-in organization. So I began my search. After a couple of weeks of poring over search results, I found this. I just received this today and so far it is all I had dared to hope for. The color does not quite match what shows on Amazon, but is closer to what is shown on the official Scarleton site. It seems to be difficult to get a picture that is true to color. I think my pictures are a tiny bit too bright, and the Scarleton picture is a tiny bit too dark. It has a bit of a plastic smell currently, but I imagine that will fade with time. Sooner if you let it air out. Despite being nylon, it is not a noisy bag at all. There's a bit of rustling if you rub the strap on the bag, but that is about it. Unlike some of the cheaper multi-pocket options you can buy, there is not a lot of crinkling every time you move the bag. It is soft, smooth, and quiet. The inner lining feels a bit more plastic-y in some places than in others, but not in an unpleasant way. The measurements listed here seem to be a bit off. Manufacturer's website says 12"x10"x6", which seems more accurate. The two front pockets are about 5" tall and about 4.5" wide. I have fairly small hands, and still can not really stick my hand in those pockets without discomfort. They are suitable for my cell phone, though, as long as I don't need to zip them. Will probably use one for that and the other for coins or napkins. The two pockets on the ends are about 4.75" tall, 4" wide at the base, and about 3" wide at the top. I stuck a 16.9oz water bottle in one and it did a pretty good job of holding it upright, though obviously that is not what it is intended for. Inside the main compartment, there is a zippered pocket and a couple open pockets that would be suitable for cell phones or mp3 players. Overall, there is a decent amount of room, and it is an attractive bag. I was worried it would be smaller than I anticipated and I would have to return it based on it not being able to hold enough, but that does not appear to be the case. I will be sure to update this after I have used it a while to let people know how well it holds up. UPDATE: Nearly 5 months later, this bag is holding up well. The smell disappeared at some point, probably in the first couple of weeks. I honestly do not remember. Nothing has snagged or torn. It carries my devices and diapers and glasses case and all manner of "just in case" things (napkins, wipes, lens wipes, feminine products, and so on) with plenty or room to spare. I have even had my compact umbrella in there and one of those large Propel water bottles without issue. This is by far the best purse I have ever had.
