This is the best olive oil I have ever tasted. I had been a California Olive Ranch girl (having read all those admonitions about foreign olive oil) until I found Partana. Partana is simply the best flavored olive oil I have tasted in this country. It makes my Sicilian DNA sing! Because it is so reasonably priced, we use it for everything. After my first trip to Sicily last fall, I came home to seek out the olive oil I had enjoyed there. Those who worry about the admonition that the US olive oil is better than Sicilian because of government regulation are suffering from misinformation and lack of taste buds. This olive oil is not cut with anything. Taste it! I learned when I was in Sicily that their food standards far exceed ours in the US and I could taste the difference and feel it in my body. (Can you imagine, I ate everything I wanted for three weeks and never had a problem with digestion?) They do not allow the chemical farming practices that are so profitable to the food industry here. Obviously, a 101-ounce can is too big for table use or to keep by the stove. After lifting the spout and twisting off the cap, I pour oil into a clean pyrex measuring cup--2 or 4 cup. Then I pour it into a table dispenser and a cooking dispenser. i store the large can in the pantry. Not such a terrible inconvenience.
