Bought this item at same time of life straw and see which is better. I have wrote below my pros and cons compared to life straw. PROS: 1. 0.1 PM filter vs. 0.2 PM filter. States removes heavy metals and Life Straw does not. 2. Removable to dry and inspect filter. Life straw can not be taken apart. 3. Adapt normal water or soft drink bottle to filter water. Life straw has no threading to do this. Also red adapter screws on straw allows for additional water accessories "sold separately". CONS: 1. Price was about $2 more than life straw. 2. No cap on intake to keep filter clean. Solution for this was to place a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" thin plastic between red cap male threads and filter female threads. 3. Typical life is 1,500 liters vs. Lifestraws typical 4,000 liters. The reason I think this is that the WS02 filters are 0.1 pm vs 0.2 pm filtering of Life Straw. 4. Life Straw I would say ways about 1/3 compared to WS02. Once again I would guess this is due to better filtering, but is more noticeable when hanging around your neck. Both came with lanyard to carry around neck and won't drop to float away in a creek lol. Both are about same length and diameter. I will purchase this item again over Life Straw.
