I bought this very hesitatingly because there was a review of a girl burning her hair off. I reluctantly bought it because it was cute and I really needed a new hair straightener, and it was a very great decision! It did not burn my hair off and straightens your hair silky smooth similar to a CHI straightener. I have no idea what that girl did wrong in the other review, but I straightened my hair at 355 and I used heat protectant.
