Great router - here's a short outline of simple NAT config for SOHO cable or DSL
Just installed this router to replace a basic consumer tp-link. I used to build network gear so it wasn't bad at all for me to configure but definitely not for the novice. I didn't do scientific testing but it's way faster than the TP-link basic router. With a ubiquity LR access point and Comcast basic tier service on a Motorola DOCSIS 3, speedtest is showing between 50-90mpbs. Pretty good especially since the AP link is 100mbps ethernet. For those of you that want a quick primer on setting this up as a simple SOHO nat router, here's what you do. 1. Go to the ubiquity site and download new firmware (I have 1.7) 2. Connect eth0 on the router to your computer 3. configure your computer interface to 192.168.1.10 and network to 192.168.1.0 router to 192.168.1.1 4. open browser to 192.168.1.1 5. update firmware from the file you downloaded 6. restart router 7. set user passwords, time zone 8. set switch mode on eth0, eth1, eth2, eth4 switch0 (I did this on the CLI - not sure if there is a menu item) 9. set eth3 to dhcp address 10.. set address on switch0 to 192.168.1.0/24 11. reconnect computer to eth1 and restart browser connection 12. turn on dhcp server on switch0 - set pool address range 13. add SOURCE nat rule with eth0 masquerading and translate on switch0 (no other rules needed) 14 turn on DNS forwarding on switch0 15. optional: set firewall rules 16 optional: turn on POE passthru on eth4 (I have it on to drive the Ubiquity AP with 24V) 17. connect cable modem/dsl to eth3, clients use eth0, eth1, eth2 and eth4 That's it.
