We've tried a few different fountains from big box stores in the past and returned them for varying reasons like loud pumps, too much water noise, difficult disassembly for cleaning and poor ergonomics. We're thinking this might be the one since it's ticked all of the boxes so far! It's nearly silent so it can be placed in sleeping areas without irritation. The only noise it produces is water noise, no pump noise is audible unless you had your ear up to the side of it. It's a good height with a level dish so your cat doesn't have to crane its neck down into a bucket like some of the other designs. It's super easy to clean and dishwasher safe is a big plus for us. The only con is that the filters seem a bit pricey since they're recommended to be changed every 2 weeks ($15.99 for 4). There are larger filters for other fountains that cost less than these tiny ones do. I'll try to wait for a sale on them or hope the price is reduced but will probably have to buy at least one set at full price. We still think it's worth it for the convenience and ergonomics for our cat.
