Star percentages are misleading
Several strong, insightful reviews have been posted here which already point out why this movie is well worth viewing. Thus, while I add this review to reinforce these evaluations, I more importantly want to point out what I consider an injustice to this film. (Note: the review process for this film began when only a Region 2 DVD was available.) As of today (11/22/16), 8 of the 20 reviews--which represents 40%--give the film one star for issues that don't evaluate the film. Seven are from people who are mad that they bought non-Region 1 DVD's that won't play in their machines; one doesn't like for women to get gussied up in make-up and dresses. (How can a movie be made in which haute couture plays a major role without dresses and make-up???) Consequently, it appears as if the film is largely disliked, which is clearly misleading, particularly if shoppers just look at the stars and don't look over all the reviews. What's even crazier is that these one-star non-reviews are included in the video listing for which no disc is even involved. I do wish that Amazon would separate reviews according to medium (dvd, blu-ray, video, etc.) to partially address this problem. Still, users have to do their part and stop using the review forum to complain about problems. (That's what Customer Service is for.) I get that some may want to warn others that a DVD can't be read by most players sold in the US. Still, if users don't notice the large warnings posted several times in the listing about the DVD's playability, then I doubt that they are thoroughly reading the reviews anyway.
