I ordered these after seeing them featured on King Arthur Flour's website; I'd previously ordered the NordicWare Bee Cookie stamps and loved them, and the Starry Night cookie stamps don't disappoint. The three gorgeous Nordic-inspired designs will be sure to dress up your holiday baking; they work particularly well with gingerbread (there is a recipe included on the box; I opted to use King Arthur Flour's Winter Spice recipe (see comment below).
Be sure to wash the stamps thoroughly the first time before use, and to dry thoroughly; it's normal to see a light layer of grey come off. Do not submerge the wooden handles in water.
It took a few tries to get the hang of using these; one recipe recommended rolling out the dough to 1/4', stamping, then cutting, but I opted to roll the dough into 1-oz. balls, rolled in sugar, then stamped.
Be sure to use a nonstick spray and/or flour your stamps generously between cookies. Stamp until you can see the edge of the dough peek out from under the stamp, then I found that twisting and lifting, the stamps separated easily.
Once cookies were baked and cooled, I used Wilton Pearl Luster mixed with ginger liqueur to paint the tops, and they are gorgeous enough to be hung on a Christmas tree and make a stunning addition to your cookie tray.
