*** Some tips on using this stroller for 2 little ones ***
I'm a HUGE fan of the B-Ready stroller: it is well made, navigates easily, and is versatile. But the different seating arrangements can be very confusing, especially when you are trying to understand what additional accessories you may need to purchase to transport two little ones in the stroller at once. I wanted to offer some thoughts and tips that I wish someone had told me a year ago. One of the best features of the B-Ready stroller is its versatility. It basically has two seating positions (upper and lower), either of which can seat an infant or a toddler. The upper position is straightforward: the included seat will accommodate a toddler, or you can use a compatible infant car seat to put your infant here. You only need to purchase additional accessories if you want to make use of the LOWER seating position, and here's how that works: - To place an INFANT SEAT in the lower position, you need to purchase the "Lower Infant Car Seat Adapter." - To place a TODDLER in the lower position, you need to purchase the "B-Ready Second Seat." You cannot simply move the seat included with the stroller to the lower position because it can only be installed in the upper spot; you must have the B-Ready Second Seat to put a toddler in the lower position. We currently have an 18-month-old and a 3-week old, and I had a hard time deciding what seating configuration made the most sense. Here are some things to consider, as there are pros and cons to each configuration. Toddler on top, infant seat on bottom (requires the purchase of the lower infant car seat adapter): - The main advantage here is that your toddler will have a better view than in the lower position, where he would be staring at the bottom of the infant seat above him. An infant in the lower position is probably less likely to complain about the view... - A second advantage is that you will still have access to most of the lower storage area of the stroller, since the infant seat only occupies the rear part of the storage space. - The disadvantage is that eventually your infant will become a toddler (as they tend to do!), and then you will need to purchase the B-Ready Second Seat if you want to continue using the stroller in double-decker mode (i.e. with two toddlers). Infant seat on top, toddler on bottom (requires the purchase of the B-Ready Second Seat): - There are two main disadvantages: First, your toddler won't have as good of a view on the bottom; second, you will completely lose the lower storage area of the stroller because your toddler's legs will be there. - The main advantage is that when your infant becomes a toddler you won't have to purchase anything else to use the stroller with both kids since you'll already have two toddler seats: the one that came with the stroller plus this lower "Second Seat." (Of course, if your kids are far enough apart in age that the older one will have outgrown the stroller by the time your younger one is out of the infant seat, this won't even be an issue. With an 18-month spread, we're definitely going to need both toddler positions!) In short, you have to consider whether you want to lose your storage space, what kind of view your toddler will have, and whether you want to purchase one additional accessory or two (depending on the age spread of your children). Hopefully this helps clear up some confusion so you aren't as perplexed as I was a year ago!
