As a 63-year-old man with a gut, I consider my 225-lb physique somewhat typical - of those that don't get their daily fix of endorphins at the gym. This robe barely closes in the front. It's the largest size offered so I hope this helps. It's a GREAT robe and well made but the inclusion of a little more "overlap" in front would probably not have put Nautica out of business.
