The O-Ring Gets Silicone...
Awhile back my watch battery died so I needed a new one. I remembered seeing a quick repair shop for watches at the mall so off I went. When I got there I asked the man if he could replace my watch battery and he said yes and to return in ten minutes it would be ready. So I handed him my watch and went window shopping for a few. I returned some time later and picked it up. A few days later I got to thinking "what kind of condition is the o-ring in and did it need any lubrication?". After a few more days of wondering I said to myself "I have to find out!!!" Looking at the back of the watch I noticed I would need a special kind of tool to remove the back. So I got on the internet and after searching for a bit found one with good reviews. After nine dollars plus shipping and a couple days of waiting it came in the mail. Now I was ready and it was time to inspect the o-ring. As I was getting everything together I had a chance to inspect the case opener tool. The case tool also comes with four different keys that fit four different casebacks. I easily figuring out which ones would fit mine so I proceeded to put them into the case opener tool itself. The keys snapped perfectly in place. Very similar to a wrench and socket but reverse. Now matter what position the wrench is in the keys will not fall out. After unscrewing the caseback I noticed right away that the o-ring was bone dry! Good thing I had some silicone in the garage. I lubricated the o-ring and cleaned up the areas that would come in contact with the o-ring. I put the o-ring back in it's rightful place and gave the caseback a few turns with my hand until it seated. I gave the caseback a snug fit with the caseback tool but not too tight! Now the o-ring is lubricated and in good shape making the watch truly waterproof. Mission Accomplished! If I had to rate the watch caseback tool I would have to give it 5 out 5. It works as advertised and well worth the money. If your interested in lubricating o-rings or putting new batteries in your watch then this tool is for you.
