I understand the negative reviews but here's a different spin on it.
****UPDATE**** After a few more episodes and looking into the writer some it's clear Oliver Lansley is as extreme as it gets in his personal views and happy to voice them. Instead of rising above it all and giving people something to focus on that isn't yet another sellout, big tech, corporate sponsored narrative he's made sure to add his name to the list of cliche Hollywood (or in this case off Hollywood because they're trying to avoid paying their fair share of CA taxes) celebrities who can't just selflessly entertain us and enjoy their wealth. However, the show stands on it's own merits and to me is a realistic view into what life is like for people (mainly women and the men they're impacting) who subscribe to the writers ideologies and philosophies. I will continue to watch the series and think it's worth watching even with the obvious bias. I watch the first episode and intend to watch more so I'll update if my opinion changes. Having read the 7 reviews there before I started watching, if I look for the virtue signaling I guess I could sorta see their point. However, for me it just seemed like that world we live in currently. Sure, it's an all female workplace, the protagonist (Paquin) interacts with mostly females but in reality the narrative of the story is essentially her and as such I think it would be very normal for a woman to engage more with the females in the workplace or as a random stranger in public. My spin however is I think this series is perfectly highlighting the negative impacts of second wave feminism and how they're impacting the mental and emotional health and well being of women in modern times. There are plenty of male centric movies showing the impacts of wars, jail, gangs and so on so I don't mind a series like this highlighting these issues it is as they are realistic. The only thing missing is one of the girls being obsessed with her "fur baby".
