I decided to purchase this stick vac after reading the reviews on this site. My intent was to use this vac maybe once a week as a supplement to hauling out my old Electrolux canister vac more than once a week. My apartment is approximately 850 SF with very low pile wall to wall carpet. The kitchen and bathroom are linoleum. I have two Ragdoll cats; one with long hair. I use the closet in the 8X10 BR to house their litter box and I wanted this vac to work easily in that space, along with the remainder of the 8X10 room. The vac performed as I had hoped and I give that 5 stars. I also wanted to use the bare floor function for the bathroom and kitchen/fatigue mat...this also gets 5 stars. I really like the swivel function especially on the kitchen floor when going between chair legs; it also works well in the small 8X10 carpeted room. The height of the handle is perfect (I'm 5' 8") and even the noise level is more than tolerable for its size. The ease of cleaning the dirt cup is very good and it has a removable baffle tube that swirls pet hair around it. This baffle tube is is incredibly easy to remove, clean, and replace back into the dirt cup with just proper positioning and a gentle twist. Finally, I gave this product a 4 star rating only because it isn't perfect. It isn't designed to recline back far enough to vac under the bed but it does a good job under the edges of chairs, etc. due to its low profile. The on/off switch (and the cord) could be set higher. Given this products' intended use and size the suction is probably appropriate but I would like to see just a little more. This handy little vac actually looks and feels like an upright but at way less than half the weight and bulkiness. It's one of those tools that is actually encouraged to be used just by its ease of use and design. I highly recommend this Hoover Cyclonic Stick Vac.
