Ceiling clock used with Snooze feature. Love that I can turn all the lights completely off.
I can’t stand any kind of light in my bedroom while I’m sleeping (used to cover my clock face with a coaster). I love that this clock face can be on bright, less bright and OFF (see photos). We never had a projection light, but I was intrigued with the idea. It actually turns on with the snooze button (brilliant!) which means that you don’t mind the light because technically you’re not trying to sleep anymore and would want to know what time it is. You can see if from where you lay without tilting your head to find out.
I was hoping it was dim enough that I would leave the projection light on all night so if I woke up in the middle of the night I could know the time (as if that’s somehow important), but honestly, unless I’m super tired and fall asleep fast, I can’t stand the light it generates. But I do put it on at night if I’m reading or whatnot before bed. I definitely do NOT like that bright setting on the projection time - it creates a big circle of light like a flashlight (see pictures). On the dimmer setting it still shows a dim circle, but not nearly as bad and in the picture didn’t even show. But like the clock face, the projection can be completely turned off. (note: the projected clock did face the right direction, I don’t know why it keeps flipping my picture)
With that being said, Pros:
-bright, dim, off feature on both the clock face and the projection
-nice choice of wake sounds, including non-obnoxious quieter sounds for those without an issue waking up
-dual alarms (for spouse or schedule different on a certain day)
Just to be picky, Cons:
-the labeling on the small buttons on the back of the clock are really hard to read
There are several small buttons on the back of the clock, which once memorized, are great! They 1) change the dimness of the clock face (I wish THAT feature was a main button as I turn it on every morning and off every night), 2) flip the projection time in case you’re facing it toward a back wall instead of the ceiling or in front of you 3) change from 12 to 24 hour time, among other things. I’ve used this for several weeks and I’m still messing up those three items I mentioned - I keep hitting buttons until I get what I want. Someday I will program myself to know by feel which button I need.
Some reviews have mentioned blinking colon dots in between the numbers - this is only on the projection - NOT on the clock face itself. I’m not sure why it blinks (maybe if you’re wanting to count sheep in perfect rhythm?) so it is a bit silly - but it’s not bright enough to bother me.
I recommend this alarm clock.
