These brackets work well but they must be installed properly for stability. Unfortunately, they don't come with instructions so you have to figure out the install on your own. Some of the reviews complain about the bed being shaky, I suspect that is because they weren't installed properly. I learned by trial and error and have uploaded some images to hopefully help others. Image 1 shows what not to do, image 2 show the right way and image 3 show the importance of a tight joint for stability. Here is what worked for me: -Install the brackets on the head and footboard first -Line up the rail so that there is NO gap between the rail and the head/foot board -Loosen the adjustment screws as far out as they go before falling out -Place the rail bracket so it is as far away from the head/foot board as possible. I used a shim to keep it there. (see image two) -Drill the pilot holes for the rail bracket and install it -Remove the shim and tighten the adjustment screws It is the joint between the rail and the head/foot board that give the bed its stability so you have to be able to tighten that using the adjustment screws. If there is still a gap after tightening, the bed will be shaky.
