Been using this a while now with my Gaggia Classic Pro. Works as advertised and I've not had any problems with it. The action is sort of like a plunger. Place it on your fresh ground coffee, push down straight and the handle plungers down when you reach the set load of the handle. Helps me get a consistency that I'd probably struggle with left to my own guess work. Feels heavy and quality. Only thing you need to watch is your pressing technique. What I mean by that is that you press evenly and squarely down on the tool. If you get in the habit of pushing at a bit of an angle then you will still get correct compaction on one side and slightly under on the other. I found myself getting in this habit if I don't pay attention. I know I've not pressed down square when my coffee comes out of one side of the dual spout more than the other.
